Welcome Back!
Here is what we'll be working on over the next couple weeks:
Math: Measurement and attributes. We will be learning about different attributes such as shape, size, color, texture that things can have. We will dive deeper into one attribute: size. The students will learn how to measure length, width, height of real life objects using non standard units of measurement. They will need to bring a teddy bear to school on Friday June 6. Please also continue addition and subtraction within 10. We will be continuing word problems and working on missing addends such 3+__=5 or 5=3+___.
ELA:
- Why do readers choose the books they do?
-How does a reader consistently work out tricky parts?
-What is the best way to read this type of book? How do you know?
Vocabulary
Expression- showing how something feels
Recipient- someone who receives a gift or item
Writing: We are finishing up our unit on opinion/persuasive writing. We will begin working on writing lists. Each student will make a list book and write down lists of things such as "favorite animals, fruits/vegetables, things to take to the beach, etc."
Social Studies: We're finishing our map unit and beginning our last unit on Animals 2x2. They will get to investigate real animals in the classroom and we will watch videos for animals we're unable to bring to the classroom to learn about how animals live and what their needs are.
